Assessment of the peripheral vestibular analyzer in children after cochlear implantation

Topicality: Despite the fact that during cochlear implantation can have negative impact on peripheral part of vestibular analyzer, in most clinics perform CI, there is no routine examination function pre- and postoperative periods. Aim: to study condition analyzer children with sensorineural deafness before after through analysis quantitative characteristics rotational test. Material methods: The prospective included 30 normal hearing complaints (control group), 34 deafness, 65 unilateral implantation. All were tested a rotatory chair according standard method, average speed slow phase post-rotation nystagmus was determined by stimulation left right labyrinths. Results: In labyrinthine areflexia detected 17.6% 20.6% cases. Bilateral observed subjects. Vestibular asymmetry found 29.4% remote period implantation, within limits 38.5%, 44.6% children, labyrinth 20%, - 26.2% bilateral 18,5% subjects, asymmetric impression 30.8% Labyrinthine implanted ear recorded 32.7% right, difference statistically significant compared group unimplanted deafness.
